Little is known about Zawileński but we know he was born in Kołacz (Poland), town at this time was occupied by Germany from 1915 to 1918. Prior to the Second World War, he worked as a farmer. Upon enlistment, he became part of the 5th Kresowa Infantry Division as part of the Second Polish Corps. After the war, like many other Poles, he stayed in England. He served in Polish Resettlement Corps organized by British authorities for Polish soldiers and he was honorably discharge from Polish Army on 1st October 1948 in Witley Camp, UK. Later he worked as a builder and general labourer. Zawileński immigrated to Canada from Great Britain by going to the Quebec port on May 28th, 1955. It is unknown when he died and what he did in Canada.
